Thing looked like an alien...

Trying somethin out.

So I've been workin in Flash for a few months now, and I'm starting to feel comfortable, so I thought I'd take a drawing I did and make it move. It's nothing pretty, but it moves, and it was fun to do and learn from. I really enjoy working in Flash more now, because it's satisfying to know you really only need to draw something once. So here's my design walking and the sketch that it was based on. Happy long weekend everyone!

Movie Sketch - Aliens

When in doubt, watch an old movie...this one happens to be one of my favourites. I think it's James Cameron's first record breaking budget movie...and it's totally worth it. No CG, just good old fashioned movie making magic...lots of smoke. I wasn't paying attention to this sketch much so Ripley isn't wearing the right stuff and no Newt etc, but hey, it's a sketch :P

No new paintings to post as of late, so I thought I'd throw some random sketches together.

R.U.F. Boys

Back when I did my 4th year film I sketched these RUF boys riding around like hooligans and I always wanted to paint something colorful to go with them, kind of playful and reckless. This is what I have got so far...just playing around still. Lots I could do, but I am doing too many things at once to keep going at the moment. I will probably come back to it. For now, it is this.

This was really annoying, and it's far from finished, but here's a work in progress. I feel like I just got my ass kicked.
And now that I've started with a process...I'll continue...as this is taking some playing around to save..

Getting back into the swing of things after the debauchery of the holidays... and this is what popped into my head. A lot to fix, but I'm done for today.

Avatar Post 2 - Triumph

Well I just finished watching Avatar, and my hopes for this movie were almost completely realized. In some ways more than. A more beautiful movie arguably doesn't exist... and the emotions portrayed through the 3D characters is nothing short of amazing. I'm going to watch it again before I blather on...but I urge anyone who likes movies to go see it. A masterpiece.

Concept Practice

I'd like to paint more, and this was the result of a little practice the other night, just touched it up now...but I'm done. I hope to do a few more this winter.

Sketch Challenge1

This week I drew something with the Capcom crew for their weekly sketch-off. Every week they sketch/paint something and they pick the best sketch and that person chooses the next weeks' topic. This week was Roller-chick. This is the first week I've drawn with them, but hopefully I'll be invited to compete again! :)

Monkey Taunts Tiger

This is a piece I did for this month's sketch themes blog, real quick. Just to get the idea across. It's based on those videos on Youtube of the monkeys slapping the tigers and getting away with it! Amazingly funny.
